Oak Apple Barn is part of a former lakeland farm, believed to date back to the mid 17th century. It nestles in gentle hills, along a quiet country lane between the pretty village of Hawkshead and the famous beauty spot of Tarn Hows. It is within easy walking distance of the village, about half a mile away. Oak Apple Barn has been carefully renovated to a very high standard and retains many of its old and interesting features, in particular the mellow pine and old oak beams.
