A wonderful place to see and sample the best of Cumbrian food in the shop, tea room, craft gallery and farm trail on their organic dairy farm near Kendal. The farm shop is filled with one of the best selections of local and speciality foods in Cumbria, with farm products - their own organic Kendal cheese, organic eggs and ice cream made from their own milk - taking pride of place.

Lake District damsons are renowned as the best in Britain. Cowmire Hall Damson Gin has become the classic local liqueur. Near Kendal.
Sue Forrester is the only butter maker in Cumbria to hand pat every one of the 1000 blocks of butter she produces each week. Wonderful dairy products from rich milk and cream. Near Carlisle.
It does rain quite a bit in Cumbria. No doubt about that. But this results in rich, lush green grass, which converts into wonderful local dairy and meat products, unsurpassed in the country. The variety of specialist producers is extraordinary. Here are a few of our favourites...

Rays Shrimps, nr Silloth, provide shrimps to the tables of the Uks best restaurants. Their brown shrimps (much tastier than the pink ones) are caught cooked and packed by the same single family. Well worth it!
The Hawkshead Relish Company are makers of award winning handmade Relishes, Pickles and Preserves in the heart of the English Lake District.
They are all made by hand using traditional methods and the finest ingredients. No artificial anything! The best relishes in the world! Right on your doorsetp.

OK, not in Hawkshead anymore, but only because it outgrew the barn. Now in Staveley nr Kendal, where you can buy bottles or kegs of tehir wonderful local ales. Award winning beers for years.
